Primary Bedroom Makeover on a Budget

Makeover!

I have wanted to give Greg and my’s bedroom a facelift for quite some time now. Then miraculously one day our set broke… probably sounds like I planned that but promise I didn’t! Greg sat on it and poof, broke. It was meant to be and it was time for a change!

Don’t get me wrong, I loved our bedroom set. It was our first set we bought together but we had had it for a long time and I was ready for a change.

This was our first set. It was pretty bulky but I loved it so much.

For our new bedroom set I wanted to do something completely different. From dark to light, from bulky to minimalist. I just knew I wanted a change.

My friend Brooke at Nesting with Grace taught me the importance of a design plan. Visualizing before you make the big decision to purchase is so important. I drew up two design plans so Greg and I could see both of them and then it was an easy decision.

Not what I was thinking we would go with until I saw the design board. I fell in love.

Rug – Currently out of stock but Boutique Rugs is one of my favorite stores to shop for rugs.

Bed – This bed was much lower than I anticipated. Full disclose – I didn’t love it at first… until I added some decor above the headboard and sconces on either side. Now I’m in love!

Sconces – I LOVE these sconces. I used the magic light trick from Nesting with Grace and it is the perfect reading light. I also love how these are dark to contrast the light bed!

Nightstands – I wanted something small and these were perfect!

Dresser – We went from two big dressers to one and I love the finishing on this dresser.

Blanket – I love this cozy blanket!

Quilt – We’ve had this for 4 years now, dog and all and it has held up very well.

Here is the finished product!

I’m beyond happy with how it turned out! It’s cozy and warm and am so glad we decided to redo it all! Now onto the other three walls in the room!
